For the Deadpool and Wolverine moviegoers, the filmmaker Shawn Levy has good news: No need to watch prior films for this one.

During an interview with the Associated Press, the director said, “I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies."

Given a backlog of over a dozen MCU and X-Men movies, Shawn shared, “I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that has peak fluency in the mythology and lore of these characters and this world."

"But I didn’t want to presume that. This movie is built for entertainment, with no obligation to come prepared with prior research.”

These remarks are said to fit in the context of the forthcoming film that confirmed that Logan's Wolverine was not shown instead a different Wolverine will be featured from another universe.

Deadpool and Wolverine is set to roll out in cinemas on July 26.
