KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita committee said on Thursday that those traders and industrialists that expressed their solidarity in grief of the killings of MQM workers should be praised and their personal details kept on record.
During a press conference, the committee said that all the big industrialists as well as traders who have always shared the sorrow, pain and distress and expressed solidarity with the citizens of Karachi should be thanked for all their support.
The committee went on to say that records of information for these people should be maintained so that the MQM can continue to provide these traders and entrepreneurs a peaceful environment to continue work in the city.
Earlier today, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain thanked people for making the day of mourning a success and appealed to traders in Sindh to open businesses at 4 PM.
The MQM was holding a day of mourning and had announced a peaceful strike across Sindh after party worker Suhail Ahmed was found dead on Wednesday in Maripur area of Karachi.
Businesses and educational institutions remained closed in several cities of Sindh including Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Jamshoro.
