Tahira Syed performs in Dallas

DALLAS: Mayor of Paris, Texas and a popular civic leader Dr. Arjumand Hashmi hosted a lavish reception and a musical Ghazal evening program in honor of prominent members of Pakistani community at the Arlington Hall in Dallas.

Mayor Dr. Arjumand Hashmi and his wife Dr. Rimza Hashmi welcomed the invited guests. His courteous and pleasant staff also stayed busy welcoming the guests.

The pleasant and fresh air was mixed with light tunes of piano played at the reception helped bringing known and unknown faces together. The pleasantries were exchanged with freshness on faces of invited guests while the melody stayed in the air.

The lavish dinner was served later which was full of Eastern and Western gourmet cuisine served in traditional style. The melody in the air continued while guest were served with elegant style and content.

As the sun got submerged into the light darkness of night the light tune started turning into a more traditional musical and as the first star appeared on the sky a memorable evening entered into a more traditional Ghazal performance. The bright faced and light demeanor personality of singer Tahira Syed appeared on stage and with her unique style mesmerized the audience, the light tunes turned into mature Ghazal singing where Tahira Syed magic was all over the place as the audience was set in a trance.

Just like her mother Malika Pukhraj, Tahira Syed presented Dokri, Pahari, Thumri and Ghazal and other unique and common raag styles of musicals in the same sitting and wrapped Pakistan's traditional, classical and popular music with melodious voice all into one presentation.

People with fine sense of music were not only enjoying the music but were at the stage of ecstasy with such a performance. Tahira Syed while making the host and hostesses wishes true also fulfilled the dreams of invited guests and presented her own and her mother Malika Pukhraj treasure troves with today's freshness.

At the end Dr. Arjumand Hashmi thanked the invited guests for their presence. The event was attended by a large number of local physicians and notables of Dallas Fort Worth area. Moreover, on the other hand singer Tahira Syed presented the best of this art of expression.

Her versatile and magical presentation was impressive for people from various cultures and background from Pakistan as she kept singing till late and kept expressing finest thoughts on love. Her old songs took the audience to their memory lanes where they could see reflections from their past as they got themselves drowned in the sea of Eastern music and culture.
