LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party leader, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan Tuesday said the judiciary had a very significant position and status but added that members of the Parliament would emerge successful in the ongoing trials, Geo News reported.

Talking to media men after submitting nomination papers for Senate polls in Lahore, Aitzaz said if elected, he would remain committed towards struggle for the supremacy of the Constitution and law besides the status of the Parliament.

"My efforts are aimed at averting any clash between institutions," he said.

To a question, he said he was unable to say for how long the contempt against the Prime Minister continue.

The Parliament, he asserted, was under no threat and that members of the Parliament would come out triumphant in the ongoing trials.
