KARACHI: Home Minister Sindh Manzoor Hussain Wassan said that police had been given full authority and Rangers given police powers in order to curb crimes including terrorism, extortion and targeted killing across the province.

Operation strategy will be adopted for the areas where crime existed and every challenge would be met with courage.

While speaking as chief guest at passing out parade of Eaglet Course at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Police Training Centre Razzaqabad on Saturday he said that they were taking steps to train police on modern lines and equipping with modern technology in view of present circumstances.

While appreciating women participation in the eaglet training he said Pakistan Peoples' Party did not believe in any kind of discrimination and today's participation of women and the persons belonging to minority proves our claim, he observed.


Answering a query he informed that he had sought from IG Sindh report of killing of ex-president of Malir Bar Council and directed him to take stern action against those involved in the crime.

On the occasion of passing out parade provincial minister for environment, Sheikh Muhammad Afzal, ACS Home, Sohail Akbar Shah, AIG Sindh, Falak Khursheed, AIG Salman Syed, AIG Ghulam Shabir Sheikh, AIG Rasool Bakhsh Sand, AIG Karachi Akhtar Gorchani, senior officers, DIGs, Rangers Officers and other leaders were present there.
