ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force Director General Major General Syed Shakil Hussain has been removed from his post, while government spokesperson said that his services have been taken back by the Army.
Sources said that the relieving notification of Shakil Hussain has been received by the ANF, while the Narcotics Control Board Secretary, Zafar Abbas Luk has taken over the charge temporarily
ANF these days is engaged in investigating Ephedrine drug scandal in which prime minister’s son Moosa Gilani is also being named and the matter is under hearing in the Supreme Court.
Supreme Court in its previous hearing had rejected Zafar Abbas’s petition for withdrawing the case and had ordered ANF for conducting an impartial enquiry in the matter. The hearing of the case is fixed on April 20.
On the other hand, the government spokesperson said that Major General Syed Shakil Hussain is due for retirement on April 18 and his services have been taken back by the Army.
