LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday welcomed Pak-India trade but added that the issue of Kashmir must not be thrown into oblivion, Geo News reported.

Talking to media after attending a Kashmir Committee's meeting here, the Chief Minister flanked by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman observed that threats like war would continue to loom unless the issues of Kashmir and water were resolved.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman told the media persons that Kashmir issue remained a top priority item in the Foreign Policy but it was later put on a back burner.

Declaring Kashmir as a critical issue, he underlined the significance of taking Kashmiri people into confidence on the stand-of.

He said Pak-India talks on Kashmir were sabotaged by Kargil and later the military leaders also engaged in talks on the issue by visiting Agra.

On Nato supply resumption, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said the resolution adopted by the Parliament only mentioned a halt to the Nato supplies and not their resumption.
