10 more dengue patients confirmed in Karachi

KARACHI: As many as ten patients were diagnosed with dengue virus over the period of one week, according to Dengue Surveillance Cell (DSC) here on Saturday.

The number of dengue affected patients has witnessed a rise ahead of monsoon rains in Karachi while according to DSC the digits are feared to see a further increase with the start of rainy spells in the coming days.

It said ten more cases of dengue patients surfaced this week while two out of them were diagnosed only today.

The DSC said that arrangements for the dengue affected patients have been put in place in local hospitals and pesticides were being sprayed in city areas.

The local residents also need to take precautionary measures at homes to protect themselves from mosquitoes.
