WHO reveals existence of polio virus in Karachi, Hyd and Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed existence of polio P3 virus in Karachi, Hyderabad and Peshawar, Geo News reported.

According to sources, WHO experts obtained drain water samples across the country and after examination it revealed existence of polio P3 virus in Karachi, Hyderabad and Peshawar. It warned that this virus easily transmits from one child to another.

In Karachi, a large quantity of polio P3 virus exists in Baldia and Gadap Towns, the sources added.

It may be noted here that this virus affected around 28 children in 2008 in Punjab.
