PESHAWAR: In reference to the passage of the new local government ordinance in Sindh, JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has criticized the government for making popular decisions behind closed doors while sending unpopular decisions to parliament.
Speaking to the media after meeting representatives of a tribal jirga, Rehman said that the deteriorating law and order situation had led to a mass exodus from the tribal areas.
He stressed that the parliamentary resolution should be implemented because innocent people were being killed and homes were being destroyed.
When asked about the set up of the interim government, Rehman criticized the two major political parties of the country and stressed that before a decision is made other parties should be consulted.
