Terrorists could target Friday rallies: Malik

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has warned that terrorists could target rallies on Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool on Friday, directing the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to step up security.

Presiding over a high-level meeting here, the Interior Minister assured that the government would provide complete protection to the peaceful rallies and ordered LEAs not to allow anyone to disrupt order.

He said the National Crisis Management Cell will monitor the protest demonstrations while all the staff at hospitals will be kept on alert.
