KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday filed an application in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the Election Commission’s decision of seeking affidavits from the parliamentarians over holding dual nationality, Geo News reported.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar through his lawyer Wahab Advocate moved the plea in the Karachi Registry of the country’s top court.

He prayed to the court to issue order for the review of the ECP decision as it was discriminatory and aimed at depriving the overseas Pakistanis of their rights.

Mr Sattar also pleaded to the Supreme Court to form a larger bench for the hearing of his application.
