KARACHI: Eight people including two Rangers personnel were killed in Karachi violence on Monday, Geo News reported.
DIG East Shahid Hayyat said two personnel of paramilitary force were killed when unidentified motorcyclists sprayed bullets on Rangers picket at Al-Asif area of Sohraab Goth. Two other traffic wardens sustained injuries in the attack.
According to ‘Geo News’ correspondent, one of the traffic wardens succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Meanwhile, five other persons were killed in various violent incidents across the metropolis.
According to rescue sources, unknown gunmen opened fire in Gulbahar area that killed a man who was identified as Ali Abbas.
A body bearing bullet wounds was also found from Martin Quarter area that was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.
Another man was gunned down in Garden area after miscreants opened fire near Jilani Mosque. He was identified as Mohammad Zahid.
