Malik Riaz, two others get bail in land scam case

RAWALPINID: Property tycoon Malik Riaz and two others accused on Saturday got bail in 1401 Kanal land scam case.

An Accountability Court granted bail to the accused against surety bonds of Rs500,000 each and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for four others accused for their continuing absence from the court.

Prosecutor General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also filed an application for withdraw of the land scam reference filed by the NAB against Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz.

The case was previously being heard by an anti-corruption court and was shifted to the Accountability Court on Chairman NAB’s orders.

The prosecutor submitted that no evidence was found against Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz therefore the reference be withdrawn.

The court issued notices to the accused for their appearance on February 16 before adjourning the hearing.
