ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will take up fake degree cases 24 former parliamentarians today (Friday), Geo News reported.

ECP, on the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, has summoned 24 former MPs whose degrees are declared fake by HEC. The SC had ordered the ECP to inform the court in the next hearing on what basis the fake degree cases were closed so that the issue could be resolved.

The former parliamentarians summoned to Election Commission include ex-MNAs Umar Gorgaij, Syed Ameer Shah Jamot, Dewan Ashiq Hussain Bukhari; former senators Israrullah Zehri, Nawabzada Muhammad Akbar, Gul Muhamamd Lot, Mir Muhabat Khan Marri and Rehana Yehya Baloch.

Former MPs from Punjab included Shumaila Rana, Shafiq Ahmed Gujjar, Samina Khawar, Wasim Afzal Gondal, Rubina Irfan, Seemal Kamran, Shujaat Ahmed and Rana Ejaz.

The Sindh Assembly members include Ghulam Sarwar Siyal, Mukesh Kumar, Pitambar Sehwani, Bashir Ahmed Khan and Nadir Magsi, while ex-MPAs from Balochistan are Nawabzada Tariq Magsi and senate candidate Dr. Israr Hussain.
