QUETTA: Amir Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hasan Sunday said all the previous government in its five-year rule did nothing except for engaging in corrupt practices, loot and plunder.

Talking to media persons after arriving here at Quetta airport from Karachi, Munawar Hasan said the political parties should have brought forward only those candidates who would qualify in the light of provisions as laid down under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitutions.

He said had the political parties taken care of Articles 62 and 63 when they could, the problems faced during the scrutiny phase of nomination papers could have been averted.

To a question, the JI Amir said his party is still engaged in talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-N over seat adjustments.

Munawar Hasan termed the decision of nationalist parties to take part in the upcoming general elections as a positive development.
