Raja Ashraf challenges disqualification in LHC

LAHORE: Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has challenged his disqualification in the Lahore High Court (LHC), Geo News reported.

In the plea, Raja Ashraf has contended that neither there was any reference in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) nor he was convicted in Rental Power case, therefore, the verdict of Election Tribunal be annulled.

It may be noted here that the election tribunal on Monday dismissed the appeal of former prime minister Raja Ashraf against the rejection of his nomination papers for NA-51 and declared him ineligible to contest the general elections.
