ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that the Nanga Parbat incident has posed the worst threat to national security and has ordered to ensure the arrest of those involved in the killing of nine foreign tourists along with their Pakistani guide and cook, Geo News reported Monday.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was chairing the Federal Cabinet meeting here today. During the meeting, the overall security situation in the country was discussed with special reference to the recent killing of ten foreign tourists on Saturday and other terrorist attacks.

The Prime Minister and other members of the Cabinet expressed serious concerns and regretted the Nanga Parbat tragedy.

During a briefing, the Interior Minister told the Cabinet that the terrorists conducted reconnaissance of the area and took help of the guides to reach the base camp where the tourists had camped. Adding that the police is interrogating the guide and a tourist who were rescued from the spot.
