LAHORE: The government has started action against CNG stations located near residential areas and gas connections to as many as 36 fuel stations were cut in the first phase, Geo News reported.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had issued notices to 1700 CNG stations but the authorities disconnected the connections of 36 stations without even waiting for the replies by the stations’ owners.

The owners said that the authorities were destroying their businesses, adding that they should be allowed to sell LPG or petrol at the outlets.

They said that the authorities should hold negotiations with the owners of the CNG stations to form an alternative policy to cope with unemployment.
