LAHORE: The presidential candidate for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Justice (retd) Wajihudding Ahmed Saturday said that PML-N contacted MQM out of fear of falling behind in number of votes following the polls boycott by PPP and ANP.
Addressing a press conference here, Wajihuddin described the forthcoming presidential elections as the country’s most important polls.
He said although he had no objection to PPP’s boycotting the polls, he was unable to understand as to what led PPP to adopt that line of action.
While the post of president is more of a ceremonious position, it continues to holds its importance, he said, adding ‘the president ensures functioning of all the federating units in harmony’.
The retired justice said although it is a fact that he is a candidate of PTI, he has not put aside his impartiality.
