KARACHI: Anjuman-e-Tajiran Karachi has announced to observe a shutter-down strike on Wednesday, the day Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif visits the crime-torn city, Geo News reported.
According to a statement issued here by the trade body would stage a sit-in outside Sindh Assembly.
On the contrary, Chairman All Karachi Traders Ittehad (AKTI), Atique Mir, rejecting the strike call declared that business would be as usual on Wednesday.
It must be mentioned that a special meeting of the federal cabinet focusing on Karachi situation has been rescheduled for September 4
It was originally set to be held on September 3.
According to sources, the meeting, with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair, will be held in Karachi.
Officials of interior ministry, law-enforcement/intelligence agencies, and police will present various reports with regard to Karachi’s deteriorating law & order situation during the meeting.
