PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Mufti Kifayatullah has expressed dismay over Fazlur Rehman’s decision to stay away from government’s talks with the Taliban.

Kifayatullah, who was chosen by the Taliban as negotiator among others, said that he was fully prepared for playing his role in the proposed talks.

He said that his efforts were also involved in wooing the militants to come to the negotiating table.

He expressed disappointment over his party’s decision to stay away from the process despite being part of the government.

Although he wanted to be part of the process, he said he was bound to obey the party's decision.
