Firing kills police officer in Korangi, Karachi

KARACHI: Police officer Anwar Jafri has been gunned down in Korangi area of the provincial capital, Geo News reported Thursday.

According to police, unknown armed men sprayed a car with bullets in Korangi area, killing police officer Anwar Jafri. His driver sustained injuries in the incident.

The deceased cop and his injured driver have been shifted to a local hospital, police sources said.

Anwar Jafri, whose shoulder promotion had been withdrawn recently, was associated with the police crime branch.

Police are investigating the incident.
