ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that a friendly country gave 1.5 billion dollars to Pakistan without any preconditions.
“There has been much hue and cry from the opposition but I want to make it clear that there are no hidden objectives behind this financial aid from a friendly country,” he said in a policy statement in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
He said the money will be spent on the uplift of the country.
Pakistan rupee witnessed an unprecedented appreciation following the receipt of 1.5 billion dollars. As a result, the dollar dropped below the psychological barrier of Rs100 mark in the previous weeks in the interbank as well as the open market.
