ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Rehman Malik has stated that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not participate in anyone’s protest on August 14, Geo News reported.

Speaking to media outside the parliament house, Malik said, “PPP is a major party and leads from the front. It does not join anyone.”

He said Tahirul Qadri went Lahore from Islamabad under a deal. PPP did not need to mediate between Qadri or Imran Khan and the government, he added.

Malik said army and ISI should not be maligned in the name of democracy.
