KARACHI: Former captain, Younis Khan has expressed his displeasure, publicly – for the first time, after being dropped from Pakistan’s ODI series against Australia.

Younis, usually a media shy character, spoke his heart out while speaking to journalists in Karachi. “Sometimes, I feel like leaving the country and sometimes I laugh at myself.” he said while expressing his disappointment.

“I've performed in past, I continue to perform yet I am not given a proper opportunity, I made a comeback in the team after 17 months but then I was dropped on basis of just one match,” Younis said.

“This is sheer injustice,” he stated.

Younis, a veteran of 91 Tests and 251 ODIs, said that Cricket authorities are not treating seniors respectfully, which is not a good sign.

“Even in past, there were seniors who were kicked out, now they’re doing the same with me, seniors are always ridiculed here,” he said.

The former captain said that he is not in mood to retire as he feels that he has got enough cricket left in him.

“I played Cricket with honor and I want to go respectfully, I am not going to announce retirement, instead I will fight back to earn my place in the team,” Younis Khan.

“But, if PCB wants me to go respectfully, they must say this to me and give me an opportunity to play my last ODI, then I will leave with pride,” he said.

“I always fought for Pakistan and when I was captain I also fought for treating seniors respectfully,” he added.
