Family of teen Hindu girl allegedly kidnapped by Bahawalpur landlord stages protest
The girl's family lamented that police were still not arresting the suspects despite an FIR being filed
BAHAWALPUR: The family and neighbours of a 13-year-old Hindu girl allegedly kidnapped almost three weeks ago staged a protest here outside the district police officer's (DPO) office in Khanuwali on Thursday.
The girl's father says his daughter was kidnapped 18 days ago by a local feudal landlord and his son. She was abducted from the fields in the area, he added.
Despite a first information report (FIR) being filed in this regard, police were still not arresting the suspects, the father lamented.
A spokesperson for the district police said there was a delay in the registration of the kidnapping case but will soon recover the girl and arrest the suspects.
