All passengers and crew of the PIA flight remained safe
An ATR plane of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) skid off the runway while landing at Gilgit airport.
All passengers and crew of flight PK-605 remained safe. CEO PIA Arshad Malik has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
A spokesman for the national flag carrier said action will be taken according to aviation laws if any wrongdoing is found. Till the inquiry is complete the pilots operating the flight have been grounded.
The flight from Islamabad to Gilgit is very challenging and requires precision and technique.
