Champions Trophy: Jadhav says Pak-India match is like any other game

“For us, we play every game with the same amount of intensity and treat every opponent with same respect,” said the 32-year old batsman

BIRMINGHAM: While the cricket world has set eyes on high voltage Pakistan vs India encounter in ICC Champions Trophy in Birmingham next month, Indian cricketers are trying to play down the intensity of the competition between two countries.

Indian batsman Kedar Jadhav says that for India, the match against Pakistan is like any other game and Pakistan is respected like any other opponent.

“As professional cricketers, we don’t involve our emotions into game. It is for the crowd to do and it's good that crowd are excited about the match and going to watch the game,” Jadhav told media in London.

“For us, we play every game with the same amount of intensity and treat every opponent with same respect,” said the 32-year old batsman who has played 15 ODIs for India.

Jadhav said that he’s excited to play the ICC Champions Trophy tournament, and it is not just about playing against Pakistan.

“See, I have played just 15 games, so for me every game is important and I am excited about every game I play for the country,” he added.

The Indian batsman said that Indian team is well prepared and it will have another three days of preparation in Birmingham ahead of the match against Pakistan.

The Royal Challenger Bangalore batsman further added that he’s looking forward to the ICC Champions Trophy which is his first ICC tournament.

“This is my first ICC event, and I am excited, more excited than any other player,” he said.
