KARACHI: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars' chief executive Atif Rana, praising fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi's skills, has predicted that the pacer will rule cricket for the next 8 to 10 years.

In a conversation with journalists at Karachi Hockey Club, the Qalandars' CEO said: "Shaheen Afridi will become a legend and rule cricket for [the next decade]."

Rana also appreciated the Qalandars' management for appointing the 21-year-old pacer as the franchise captain for PSL 7 — a decision that proved fruitful.

Shaheen, who was appointed just days before the PSL 7 started, guided Lahore Qalandars to their maiden PSL title after a wait of seven long years. He also became the youngest PSL captain to lead his side to victory.

The young pacer was also declared the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy Men's Cricketer of the Year (2021) by the ICC — one of the highest-ranking awards by the ICC.
