Hasan Ali bags Player of the Tournament, Golden Ball for outstanding performance

With the stunning win in the final of Champions Trophy at The Oval; Team Pakistan have not only secured winning trophy but its players have also received awards and recognition for their outstanding play in the tournament.

Sensational youngster Hasan Ali – whose middle overs bowling dismantled players of top teams – bagged Player of the Tournament award and also received the Golden Ball trophy for being the leading wicket-taker in the entire eight-team tournament.

Fakhar Zaman received Man of the Match of award for making a dazzling maiden hundred to set Pakistan on their way to 338 for 4.

Shikhar Dhawan, meanwhile, picked up the Golden Bat award, for being leading run-scorer.

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has said that the cricket world should now stop saying that Pakistan cannot beat India in major tournaments.

Talking to media after the team outclassed India, skipper Sarfraz said that the perception about Pakistan team should be changed.

"Everyone was saying that Pakistan can't beat India in major tournaments, we did it today in a remarkable manner to change this perception," a jubilant Sarfraz told media.

"I think now people should now stop saying that Pakistan can't beat India in major events," he said.

The wicket-keeper batsman said that the win was important for Pakistan cricket and he would dedicate this title to everyone in Pakistan.

"This is very important for me as a captain and for everyone else as a team. This is very important victory for Pakistan cricket," he said.

"We are forced to play our home matches outside our home, no one thought that we would make it to second stage of the tournament but we defied all odds and defeated every top team in this tournament," he said.

"I want to dedicate this win to everyone in Pakistan," he replied when asked whom he would name this achievement.

The captain also praised the young blood and said that team is in right direction towards preparation of 2019 World Cup.

"Fakhar, Shadab, Hasan.. they all did well and we are heading toward right direction," he said.
