Govt to take parliament into confidence over IMF program: Dar
ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the government would take parliament into confidence over International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, Geo News reported.

Speaking to media before Microfinance Seminar here Tuesday, Ishaq Dar said the IMF agreed to provide loan of $5.3 billion after the incumbent government put the economy on right path.

He said Pakistan wanted loan of $7.3 billion and the first installment of $3.5 billion so that it became easy for the country to repay to IMF.

Dar made it clear that the government had not yet decided to raise power tariff.

The finance minister said they would hide nothing and would share it with 185 million people. He added that the agreement with IMF would also be put on the ministry’s website after it was inked on September 04.
