Floodwater submerges houses in Chilas

DIAMIR: Several houses were submerged after heavy rain on Sunday triggered flood in several areas of Chilas.

Water from hill torrents destroyed crops spreading over hundreds of acres while Karakoram Highway was closed for traffic due to land sliding.

Similarly, Hazara Qaumi road was also closed after heavy rain and land sliding. Electricity to Chilas city and other areas was suspended, causing difficulties for the people.
