Defence ministry advises putting off DIK by-polls on security fears
ISLAMABAD: The ministry of defence has recommended to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to defer the by-polls in Dera Ismail Khan, Geo News reported.

Sources said that this recommendation was given during the ECP meeting presided over by the Acting Chief Election Commissioner, Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani.

Secretary Defence, Asif Yasin said that the advice to postpone by-polls in DIK was given on grave security fears.

ECP sources took the stance that final decision would be taken after taking the NA-25 candidates into confidence.
