Peshawar: Routes leading to Bilour House closed
PESHAWAR: Security forces on Friday blocked all the routes leading to Bilour House in the Cantt area of Peshawar, following the win of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour from NA-1 constituency in the by-elections, Geo News reported.

It may be mentioned that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) lost on both seats vacated by Imran Khan after the May 11 general elections.

In NA-1 Peshawar, PTI candidate Gul Badshah lost to ANP’s Ghulam Ahmad Bilour while in NA-71 Mianwali, PTI’s Malik Wahid lost to Obaidullah Shadikhel of the PML-N.

ANP supporters celebrated Bilour's victory with fireworks and traditional aerial shooting.

A large number of ANP supporters flocked to the Bilour House to congratulate their leader, however, the security forces closed all the routes today morning and restricted the workers and supporters.

The ANP leaders including Ghulam Ahmed Bilour and workers sat outside the Bilour House to meet the people.

While talking to Geo News, Ghulam Bilour told that people are visiting him to congratulate on his victory in the by-polls but the administration is not allowing him to receive the wishes.

He expressed his displeasure over the situation and said the administration can jail him if he is a prisoner as the area has been sealed around his residence.

The ANP leader alleged that some people are not happy on his victory.
