SHC orders removal of road blockades
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the immediate removal of blockades from landmarks such as the Bilawal House, Governor House and Chief Minister’s House.

A petition by Barrister Rashid Akhtar had been filed in the SHC seeking the removal of road blockades at the Bilawal House, Governor House, CM House and consulates in Karachi. According to the petition, these blockades caused difficulties for residents and disrupted traffic.

SP South informed the court that the blockades were placed in light of terror threats at these landmarks. To this the court replied that if there is a threat of terrorism fool proof security should be ensured and the residents cannot be caused distress in the name of security.
