NEPRA notifies relief for power consumers
ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification regarding provision of relief to power consumers after a review of the previous fiscal year's fuel price adjustment.

According to the notification, the regulatory authority has decided to reduce the price of power used in July 2012 by 86 paisa per unit, 58 paisa per unit in August, 70 paisa per unit in October, 85 paisa per unit in November, 51 paisa per unit in December, 87 paisa per unit in January 2013, 42 paisa per unit in February, Rs 2.39 per unit in March, Rs 2.52 per unit in April, and 93 paisa per unit in May 2013.

The power distributing companies (Discos) would give relief to the consumers in monthly bills with effect from the notification date. The decision of providing relief will not be applicable to the power consumers belonging to Karachi and Peshawar.
