Karachi operation to continue till elimination of crime: PM
KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asserted that the operation in Karachi will continue till elimination of crime.

Addressing a ceremony of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here on Friday, Nawaz Sharif said the government is to do much more for the metropolis.

Nawaz Sharif vowed to improved the situation in Karachi and said this was a main focus of the government. He said: “Karachi is the commercial capital and the heart of Pakistan”.

"Elimination of terrorism and extremism is vital for the progress of the country," PM Sharif added.

He regretted that industry and the economy could not flourish due to shortage of power, adding the government wanted to bring all institutions on the right track.

Work on three projects of 3300MW was underway, he said and added that 1400 to 1600MW electricity would be added in the national grid within few days.

The Prime Minister said 260MW each project would be started in Bin Qasim.

“China is working with Pakistan government on 10 projects in Thar. Coal of Tharparkar will used in these projects”, PM Nawaz said.

The prime minister spoke on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) influence stating that it is a key political party in Sindh.
