Mir attack plotters not well-wishers of democracy: Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid condemning attack on renowned journalist and Geo News anchorperson Hamid Mir said that it was an assault on press, judiciary and democracy.

In a statement here Saturday, the information minister said that those elements attacking the freedom of press are not well-wishers of democracy.

Rahshid called for an independent probe into the matter for surfacing the culprits behind the attack on Hamid Mir.

The culprits would be brought to justice, he assured.
