PM orders judicial inquiry of attack on Hamid Mir
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered a judicial inquiry of the attack on Geo News senior anchor and renowned Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir.

A three member judicial commission will be formed to conduct the probe. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting summoned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss the attack on Hamid Mir.

PM House spokesman said the commission would be given three-week time to submit its report.

The federal government has also announced Rs10 million award for information leading to the arrest of Hamid Mir’s attackers. The identity of the person providing the information will not be disclosed.

Hamid Mir was attacked shortly after arriving in Karachi on Saturday evening. The Geo News senior anchor’s car was targeted as he left the airport. He was shot six times and is recovering after surgery.
