LONDON/LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir-ul-Qadri says he has no intentions of staging a sit-in in Islamabad and intends to peacefully travel to Lahore.

Threat Perception

Meanwhile, the Punjab provincial home department has warned of an imminent threat to the PAT chief’s life adding that terrorists can attack Tahir-ul-Qadri at the airport and on the Grand Trunk road.

The Home department’s spokesman adds that in light of the ongoing operation in North Waziristan, terrorists have already declared they will target political and religious leaders.

There is a threat of an attack at the Benazir International Airport as well as other airports of the country, and the threat perception has been shared with Pakistan Awami Tehreek officials, the spokesman added.
