Altaf, Corps Commander Karachi make telephonic contact
LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief and Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Sajjad Ghani made a telephonic contact on Friday evening, Geo News reported.

Altaf Hussain and General Ghani exchanged views on MQM concerns over Karachi operation.

The Core Commander Karachi assured Altaf Hussain for taking all possible measures to make the ongoing Karachi operation impartial. He said thorough investigation would be made over the complaints in this regard.

During the conversation, a decision to constitute a six-member committee that comprises three MQM members and three LEAs officials, carrying out operation in Karachi, was made.

This committee would investigate all the complaints and take action against those involved in violation of the law.

Following telephonic contact with Corps Commander, Altaf Hussain has deferred his decision to write letter to Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.

Earlier, Altaf Hussain has said, he is compelled to write to Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to express concerns over kidnappings and extra judicial killings of MQM workers.

In a statement issued on Friday, the MQM chief said “ I am writing a letter to the army chief over unjustified murders, torture, and extra judicial killings”

He said that Urdu-speaking workers were being killed, kidnapped, and tortured by the Rangers on ethnic basis.
