ISLAMABAD: Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad Aftab Ahmad Cheema has been removed from his post.
Cheema has been replaced by DIG Headquarters Khalid Khattak who has been given a charge of acting IGP.
The transfer takes place at a time when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) are holding sit-ins outside Parliament in the federal capital.
PAT chief Tahirul Qadri has alleged that Cheema was transferred as he refused to use force against protestors.
