Political parties stand united to protect democracy: Kh Saad
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique on Tuesday said that all the political parties are united in this time of crisis to safeguard democracy and constitution and assured the nation that that no force can derail democracy, Geo News reported.

Talking to the media outside the parliament building, Saad Rafique said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri want to impose the law of the jungle in the country and the government will oppose it.

He said that the protesters want to conquer the federal capital with the help of violence. Rafique said hammers, sticks, cutters and masks were recovered from the protesters and parliament will not allow violence to be imposed.

Rafique said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will not resign at any cost and that no group or power can derail democracy. He said that his party also confronted police throughout their lives but without batons.

“All political parties are united for democracy and constitution and no power can remove us constitutionally,” Rafique said.

He questioned that what Imran Khan and Dr Qadri would respond after the attack on PTV office.

He reiterated that the government is still ready for dialogue.
