Altaf addresses workers on his birthday
KARACHI: Founder and leader of the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain spoke to his followers via video-link from London on the occasion of his 61st birthday.

Hussain chose not to celebrate his birthday and instead directed his party’s Coordination Committee and office bearers to use the occasion to raise funds for the flood victims.

In statement issued from MQM’s London Secretariat, Hussain said, hundreds of lives have been lost and millions have lost the roof over their heads due to the floods, which have wreaked havoc in Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

New Provinces

In his address Hussain told followers that speaking about new administrative units in light of the growing population is not the same as speaking of breaking up the country.

Hussain said, that to save Pakistan local bodies system must be reintroduced, adding that if new units were not created it would remove Pakistan from the map.
