Parliament passes resolution for supremacy of Constitution and democracy

ISLAMABAD: The resolution for the supremacy of the Constitution, democracy and Parliament was unanimously passed by the joint session on Friday.

The resolution condemns the sit-ins and attacks on state institutions and states that the protests were used to take the focus away from Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar presented the resolution in Parliament which further states that political parties are committed to the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law. It adds that there will be no compromise on the continuation of democracy or sovereignty of Parliament.
