K-Electric’s 120 feeders trip as first rains lash Karachi
KARACHI: A total of 120 feeders of K-Electric out of 1400 tripped, as soon as heavy and moderate rain started lashing various parts of the metropolis, plunging many areas into darkness.

There was a forecast by the country’s Meteorological department of heavy rains in the city due to cyclone Nilofar that had lost its intensity before hitting land along the coastal areas of the country Friday night.

Heavy rains were witnessed in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, Clifton and DHA.

Electricity was suspended in many areas of the city including those of Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Lyari, Kharadar and Saddar.

According to the spokesman of K-Elecric 120 out of 1400 feeders were affected by the rains. He said 65 feeders have been restored while work was underway to fix the rest of the tripped feeders.
