Altaf terms Maulana Aziz’s statement condemnable

LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday termed the video statement of Lal Masjid’s cleric, Maulana Abdul Aziz, released on December 20, as threatening, untrue, shameful and deserving condemnation.

In a statement issued here, Altaf Hussain said Maulana Aziz has not only adopted a threatening tone but also used inappropriate language in his video statement issued against his (Altaf Hussain’s) call for the government to demolish Lal Masjid like Masjid Zarar and to shut down Jamia Hafsa.

Altaf Hussain has appealed to the religious scholars, Ulema, analyst and people to examine the teachings of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa as well as their overall conduct in the light of Surah-e-Munafiqoon.
