Axact scandal: PBA announces policy to hire back media professionals
KARACHI: The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) has announced that due to the crises that has emerged after the Axact and Bol scandal, PBA has consulted its members and is adopting the policy of hiring back as many media professionals as possible by member PBA channels.

In a press release, the body stated that PBA looks after the welfare and development of independent electronic media in the country.

It went on to say that, “it appears some unscrupulous people in order to protect their illegal operations tired to take the cover of independent media by setting up a media organisation.”

PBA further said that “Unfortunately it is apparent that Axact was venturing into media to protect its illegal business and conceal its source of wealth. “

The press release also says that the crisis that has emerged has affected Axact and BOL channel that it was funding which put at risk hundreds of media related jobs.

PBA has setup a resume collection and forwarding facility at [email protected] to facilitate professionals.

“PBA understands that while the owners, Presidents and CEO of BOL had full knowledge of the illegal source of funding and evasion of duty on equipment, the working journalists and technicians simply fell victim to the entire scam.”
