Chitral death toll from flooding rises to 30
CHITRAL: The death toll from flooding in Chitral has rise to 30 after 21 people lost their lives during the last 24 hours.

The flood situation worsened in Chitral following heavy downpour last night. Flood waters from nearby mountains also caused widespread devastation in the area.

At least 50 areas have been cut off due to the destruction of Mozgul bridge from the floods.

According to the ISPR, Pakistan Army’s flood relief efforts continue in affected areas. 200 tents have been provided to affected people while ration for 300 families have been provided by Gilgit Baltistan.

Meanwhile, 180 people stranded in Kalash and Boni have been shifted by an Army helicopter to Chitral.

A PAF C-130 Aircraft carrying relief goods landed at Chitral and evacuated 46 flood affectees on its way back to Islamabad.

According to PAF spokesman the PAF is undertaking rescue and relief operations in the flood affected areas of Chitral on the instructions of the government.
